What is the Renewable Heat Incentive?
The renewable heat incentive, or RHI, was the government scheme to encourage the shift to low carbon and renewable heat technologies. The scheme is now closed to new entrants but anyone who joined the scheme must continue to maintain and service their heating systems to continue to receive payments. Get in touch if you need support with this.

“As a small local charity managing a community building, we were very keen to look into installing sustainable heating and we were delighted that we found Pellets 2 Heat. When Tristan came out to speak to us initially we felt he was someone we could trust and work with and that certainly proved to be the case.
Tristan provided support, advice and guidance to the Co-Convenors and Trustees on all aspects of the installation and the running of the system. He is extremely knowledgeable, approachable and understanding, so that when we encountered difficulties beyond our control, he was there to help us consider options and arrive at the best solution to fit our needs and situation. All aspects of the work were carried out by the Pellets 2 Heat team with professionalism, care, attention to detail and with minimum fuss. We would recommend them to anyone who wants to install a Biomass System and we know others in our local community who are equally delighted with their service.

“The work was completed on time and efficiently. Any questions I had were answered promptly. I cannot fault the service I received and look forward to having a warm and cosy house this winter.“
Affordable
Wood is an affordable heating fuel. The price of wood pellets has remained relatively stable compared to oil, LPG and electricity and has remained cheaper than most other heating options. There is financial support to switch to renewable energy where homeowners can earn income from a wood fuelled heating system. Homeowners in Scotland can also access an interest free loan up to £10,000 when criteria are met. Funds are available on a first come first served basis. We can design, supply and install a biomass heating system for you that is eligible for all these types of government funding.
Sustainable
Biomass heating is a low carbon option. The carbon dioxide emitted when wood is burned is equal to that which was absorbed over the months and years that the plant was growing. From October 2015 your fuel supply will also need to be from proven sustainable sources if you want to remain eligible for certain government grants. There are many criteria to consider when choosing your wood fuel including where it comes from, how much you need and where you will store it.

Energy Performance of your Home
Understanding how much energy your home uses is vital to ensure your biomass boiler is correctly sized for your needs. It is also critical in calculating how much you can earn from government financial incentives such as the RHI. We can generate an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for your home giving you the essential data on your home’s energy demands.
