Did you know that the government provides financial support to people to help it meet carbon reduction targets?
Financial Support
We understand that buying a new biomass heating system is a significant investment and requires serious consideration. The government has put in place a variety of financial schemes to support homeowners and businesses to make the transition away from fossil fuel systems and towards low carbon and renewable energy solutions.
Currently, in Scotland, you can apply for an interest free loan and receive a significant cashback, which is effectively a grant.
The schemes providing financial assistance are constantly evolving as we have seen since we started monitoring this market in 2006. If you would like to be kept up to date with changes in the government funding schemes for biomass energy, then please sign please get in touch. You can also find out more from Home Energy Scotland.
Interest Free Loans
New funds available for an interest free loan of up to £10,000 for residents in Scotland. Funds available on a first come first served basis when criteria are met.
Renewable Heating Incentive Scheme (RHI)
The domestic and non-domestic Renewable Heating Incentive schemes closed in March 2022. Existing members of the schemes need to ensure continued compliance to remain eligible and receive remaining funds.
