Commercial RHI
Financial support for businesses installing renewable heating systems.
What is the commercial RHI?
The commercial RHI, called the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), is a Government environmental programme that provides financial incentives to increase the uptake of renewable heat. For the non-domestic sector, it provides a subsidy, payable for 20 years, to eligible, non-domestic renewable heat generators (subject to the detailed scheme rules). The scheme closed to new entrants in March 2022.
Who runs the scheme?
Ofgem is responsible for implementing and administering the scheme on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
Who was the scheme for?
The Non-Domestic RHI was open to the non-domestic sector including industrial, commercial, public sector and not-for-profit organisations with eligible installations. All applications remain subject to the detailed scheme rules.
